FAQs
Find clear answers to your questions about our leadership programs, designed to support your industry’s unique challenges.
What Industries do you specialise in?
ILP’s programmes are built around high-consequence work environments where the cost of human error is severe. Our core client base spans oil and gas (upstream and downstream), mining and mineral processing, heavy manufacturing, construction, maritime and port operations, and chemical processing. We also work with utilities, logistics, and any organisation where safety leadership is a strategic priority.
Worldwide, we can deliver programmes for both multinationals and nationally owned enterprises. If your industry involves people working in hazardous conditions, our programmes are designed for you.
How are your programs customised?
No two organisations share the same safety culture, operational risk profile, or leadership maturity level, so no ILP programme is delivered off the shelf. We begin with a needs assessment that examines your incident history, existing safety systems, leadership behaviours, and workforce demographics.
From there, we adapt case studies, scenarios, and facilitation style to reflect your specific operational context. Our flagship programmes, CDLM – Character Driven Leadership Model™ and Safety Thru Leadership™ programme, for example, can be configured for a frontline supervisor cohort on a drilling rig or for a senior leadership team in a corporate environment – the framework is consistent, but the content speaks directly to the world your people work in.
PJSM Excellence™ is similarly tailored to the pre-job meeting formats and permit-to-work systems already in use at your site, ensuring that learning is immediately transferable back to the job.
Can you accommodate diverse company sizes?
Yes. ILP works with organisations ranging from small specialist contractors to large multi-site enterprises with thousands of employees. Our programmes can be delivered to intimate cohorts of 12-16 participants for deep learning and engagement or structured as a roll across multiple sites and departments.
For larger organisations, we work with your internal training team to cascade programmes effectively – including training your own facilitation to sustain the culture change over time. Whether you need a single intensive intervention or a long-term partnership across your full workforce, we will design a delivery model that fits your structure and budget.
What is the typical duration of your courses?
Duration is matched to the depth of change you are seeking. Safety Thru Leadership™ is typically delivered as a two-day intensive programme, with optional follow-up coaching sessions to embed behavioural change back on the job.
PJSM Excellence™ ranges from a focused one-day workshop to a two-day programme, depending on the complexity of your existing pre-job safety system, to 5 days for the CDLM™ programme. Durations are scoped on a per-project basis.
All programmes can be delivered in modular form across multiple days where operational schedules make consecutive full-day attendance difficult. We work around shift rotations, shutdown windows, and travel constraints – the training comes to your people, not the other way around.
